BED LEVEL
Virtual Bed Interface cable drum and control panel.
The VIRTUAL BED INTERFACE: VBI, is a bed level device developed by Oscillation to operate in the most demanding applications, such as alumina, nickel and zinc.
It operates on the diver principle, by lowering a turbidity probe into thickeners, settlers and washers to locate the bed.
The turbidity probe, which was specially developed for the VBI, can operate in temperatures up to 120 deg C and depths to 20 metres.
As the probe is lowered two signals are produced. One signal is proportional to probe depth and the second is the active turbidity measurement. Combined, the two signals produce a complete turbidity profile. This provides not only bed depth information, but also vital overall status of the thickener which allows for more accurate control of the process.
The VBI can combine with the HT Clarometer to provide a unique control solution for high temperature applications.
